STYLE GURU STYLE: In Vogue We Trust

Summer is slowly coming to an end and fall will soon be upon us! Am I the only one who’s not too torn up about it? I cannot wait for the leaves to change, the temperature to cool down and to be able to break out my cozy sweaters!

Now, just because the season will be changing soon doesn’t mean us Fashionistas can’t still shine stylistically! Taking inspiration from Saint Laurent fall 2016 ready-to-wear, I combined some pretty “out-there” pieces to create an ensemble that is edgy but still relaxed enough to wear. The line is very ornate consisting of shoulder pads, mixed prints and textures, gold accent belts and lots of sequins. Not to mention, leather! How can you go wrong with sequins and leather? You just can’t. It’s basically fashion law.

The line allows for one to express their wild side. While it is a tad bit on the dressier side, pieces can be incorporated into a look that is very wearable. I tried to do this with my ensemble. I paired a shiny gold and black bustier-like top with an A-line, pleather skirt. The different textures prints create a contrast within the outfit, but still come together.

I wanted to keep the outfit a little bit more laid-back than the actual Saint Laurent line. That way, my fellow Fashionistas can still be inspired with items from his/her own closet. I decided combat boots were the way to go for footwear, to keep the ensemble a little more relaxed. Then, I added a black chunky necklace just to spice it up.

The great thing about this outfit is that elements can be added and taken away to alter the level of elegance. For example, switch out the combat boots for a pair of black pumps and you have yourself an ensemble perfect for a night out! It will still be trendy no matter what, especially when you incorporate your own stylish flares!

Get My Look: 1. Bustier top. 2. A-line skirt. 3. Combat boots.  4. Chunky necklace.
