STYLE GURU STYLE: In It For the Long Shawl

As many of us have come to realize, this winter has shown milder temperatures as we finish up our finals and prepare for the holidays. For Fashionistas and Fashionistos, this means that the dreaded parka does not need to come out quite yet and we are able to rock our late autumn outfits a little longer. Whether you are heading out to the library or finishing your last-minute christmas shopping, it is important to look cute and feel comfortable while doing so.

Looking through this year’s fashion trends, I found myself very inspired by the works of Piazza Sempione in their pre-fall 2016 collection. I tend to dress in busy, multi-colored outfits so I was struck by the minimalist and fresh look of this collection. One thing that truly stood out to me was the length of the coats and shawls. I translated these looks into my own style by pairing a long shawl with a black turtleneck and high waisted button-up skirt. I added a black studded purse, black sunglasses and green rings to spice up my outfit. Little accessories like sunglasses and jewelry add the perfect final touch to any outfit. The thing I love most about shawls is that they are a great item to sport in both the autumn and winter. I typically bust mine out of the closet when it starts to get chilly and find it fun to pair it with an array of different outfits. Shawls look wonderful on all Fashionistas due to the fact that they come in a variety of different shapes, sizes, colors, patterns etcetera.
