STYLE GURU STYLE: I Like My Clothes Like I Like My Coffee

I do not know where to begin to describe my sincere infatuation with Alexandre Plokhov’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. I mean, the line is so crisp and clean, and I am talking about the type to make you want to get up to go clean your room! He stays within the blacks and grays and sees no room for diversion. The way he creates this spark in me with this monochromatic movement is insane. Monochromatic schemes have been really popular for a while, and I am glad to see that it will not going away anytime soon!

So, being inspired by this collection, I tried to keep the same elements from it, while incorporating a bit of my personality into my outfit. For the most part, I stuck with the black throughout; I am completely obsessed with the color black. It is actually my favorite color after pink. I decided to wear a pair of leather pants, and I cuffed them at the ankle. I do this when my pants appear too short and have a wider leg opening. It looks awkward just to leave them just hanging like that! Then for a blouse, I just threw on a basic black, strapless top. Plokhov did use some fur in his collection so I pulled on an oversized, black faux fur jacket, made by yours truly, to bring the look together. For shoes, I wore a pair of black ankle boots, which are probably my favorite pair of ankle boots I own! Accessory-wise, I had on a pair of oversized sunglasses, some gold hoop earrings and a black watch. There was also some gray in his set so I thought it was pretty cool that my hair already had gray in it—because I’m cool like that (winks eye). In the sense of incorporating my own personality into this, I decided to opt for a bright pink kate spade new york bag as an accessory and a purple-to-pink ombre lip. Think of it as my way of telling spring to hurry up and come on!

Get My Look: 1. Faux fur jacket. 2. Leather pants. 3. Ankle boots.
