STYLE GURU STYLE: How to Beat The Rainy Day Blues

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m pretty sure a monsoon hit Ithaca College this past week! The weather has been rainy and dreary all day everyday here on campus, and all of my friends have been asking—how do I dress for this depressing weather?! I’d been wondering this myself, so I took to the rain experts themselves—Hunter Original’s 2016 spring ready-to-wear collection.

Fall is one of my favorite seasons for fashion, but this weather feels like spring, so that’s what I channeled in this outfit. While I’m all about the ’70s trend right now, I didn’t want to ruin my new suede booties trudging to my classes, so I opted for my trusty Hunter rain boots. I love the matte black color because they go well with everything from dresses and skirts to leggings and jeans.

Fortunately, though it has been rainy all week, the infamous upstate NY freezing temperatures haven’t hit us yet, so I’m lucky enough to still be able to wear a dress. Because black and white have been staples of spring runway shows for the past few years, I threw on a versatile black and white striped T-shirt dress.

I loved the neutral palettes they used in the show, so I decided to incorporate a green trench coat into my look for a subtle pop of color.

Get My Look: 1. Classic rain boots. 2. Easy to wear T-shirt dress. 3. Versatile raincoat.
