STYLE GURU STYLE: Hitting the Street

We can all admit we owe the Kardashians/Jenners and Kanye West a huge fist bump for some of the most iconic streetwear looks within the last two years. You can hate all you want on just how pointless their careers are, but when it comes to fashion, the Kardashian ladies have it down to a science.

If you search the internet or take a trip to any mall, you are bound to find a Kardashian-inspired look for less. It’s safe to say that these leading ladies are the streetwear fashion icons of our generation. Simply put, thigh-high boots and Vans paired with an oversize band T-shirt will never be looked at the same way for as long as we know it.

My go-to style is usually casual pieces that I dress up. Simple pieces like cool, vintage denim, T-shirts, and tons of sneakers fill my wardrobe. I find myself constantly taking a simple outfit and glamming it up with accessories in order to make a cool Kardashian-inspired look.

I attempt to live up to a new Kardashian look every week after an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians because everyone needs a little push when it comes to fashion inspiration. If you ask any great stylist, celebrity, or designer, they all get their inspiration from someone, and mine is definitely my girl Kim K.

My simple white, distressed long sleeve dress is amped up with this cool one-of-a-kind, vintage, denim jacket from the brand Millioneiress. I took this look to the streets and paired it with a pair of classic Vans sneakers, and finally I decided to glam it up like always with a diamond choker.

Fashion is an art; it gives a person the ability to be unique and stand out, and I find that thrifting and finding cool underground websites and designers is the best way to go about it. So, next time you see that statement piece that might be an investment, take the risk! Every closet needs that one piece that is totally crazy and takes an outfit to the next level.
