STYLE GURU STYLE: Hats Off To Nichol

This spring, it’s all about comfort. Wendy Nichol’s 2015 ready-to-wear collection proved that any Fashionista can rock a chic, feminine look without suffering through the pain and discomfort that fashion trends often bring. This collection will set a trend this spring and summer, I’m sure. Dresses and hats, people! You’ve heard it here first. Nichol’s runway collection inspired me to try a sporty chic look this week.

I’ve always loved a comfortable dress. I love the fact that dresses are an entire outfit; just throw on some shoes and accessories and you’re ready to go! This striped dress is one of my favorite season transition pieces. Don’t put your winter dresses away just yet! Wear one of them out on the town or to dinner with your girlfriends. In South Carolina, it’s safe to say goodbye to your tights and leggings until next fall.

I accessorized my simple, comfy dress with a Yankees hat. Do I follow the teams wins and losses? No. Do I know much about baseball? No. Do I love a stylish, trendy hat? Yes. Hats are perfect for your not-so-perfect hair days. With South Carolina’s humid weather, hats aren’t just a rad accessory, they are necessary. I completed my look with tan wedges. Wedges are the perfect shoe if you want some height without the pain of heels.

Nichol’s sporty feminine collection gave me all the inspiration I will need this spring and summer. Next time I try to waste two hours in the bathroom curling my hair, I’ll remember that hats are actually a blessing.

Get My Look: 1. A simple striped dress. 2. A ball cap, sporting your favorite team. 3. Rad wedges.
