STYLE GURU STYLE: Groovy Mom Jeans

Fall is on its way and I am not the only teenage girl out there excited for high-waisted jeans, sweaters, seasonal Starbucks drinks and the beloved ankle bootie. Since fall isn’t quite here yet, I decided to throw something together that says “it’s still summer, but I am going to pretend it’s fall anyway.”

The pink halter top is from the Goodwill by my house. I saw it and instantly fell in love. In the center, is the Baby Phat logo in rhinestones. Also thrifted, my mom jeans were very long when I found them, so I cut the bottoms and frayed them with the same pair of scissors. Shout out to all the short girls who cut all the bottoms off their jeans! Black belts with the light wash jean are so in right now. I am in love with the 1990s aesthetic.

For accessories, I just added a black baseball hat from Brandy Melville. When you’re running out the door to class and realize that your hair probably hasn’t been washed in two days, grab a baseball hat! Even though this one is from Brandy Melville, you can find ones just like it at the thrift store or even your dad’s closet.

Recently, I have been obsessed with pastels, and I always find inspiration through urban style. Fashionistas that roam New York City and Los Angeles that I see on Instagram and Twitter are my muses. Don’t think that this is just a day time look! By adding a leather jacket or heels, this can be an outfit for hitting the town at night with your girlfriends!
