Karl Lagerfeld once said “black and white always looks modern, whatever that word means.” I totally agree with him, don’t you?
During the fall and winter 2015-2016 runway shows we saw a lot of black and white. A collection that especially caught my eye because of this trend was Valentino. You might remember this show because of Zoolander’s appearance on the catwalk. In this collection, there were a lot stripes and squares as well as more minimalistic clean looks.
This time I went for a cool and casual look. This is a great outfit to wear during the weekend when you want to stay comfy but remain chic and fashionable, as always. I chose these pants because they’re loose, comfortable and they keep you cool during these really hot spring days. For the same reason, I went for a crop top to go with them. I thought about adding a pop of color with a bag but I decided to remain as minimalistic as possible.
Since I wanted the clothes to speak for themselves, I wore neutral colored accessories that didn’t scream out for attention: a DKNY gold watch, a black and gold bracelet and sandals. Any color goes perfectly with black and white, however I think that if you want to keep it as modern and elegant as possible, you should combine it with metals. My favorite metal is rose gold.
