STYLE GURU STYLE: Glaminista

Although I am usually a fan of keeping it real, this season’s trends are so faux-filling and I couldn’t be happier about it.

I love clothing that makes me feel glamorous without being too dramatic. This white faux-fur vest provides that perfect medium. The lack of sleeves keeps the piece from becoming too formal for everyday wear, while the overall look and feel of the material sends off luxury vibes.

I get some of my fashion inspiration from “glam baddie” feeds on social media, so a pop of rhinestones is typical for my outfits. Rhinestone choker necklaces have been super trendy as of late and I’m rather proud of mine; I made this necklace myself for less than $5. It’s amazing what a little extra time, some internet inspiration and an impromptu trip to the craft store can get you! I am also known on my campus for my rose gold, sequined backpack. It brings the fun back to the collegiate lifestyle!

It wasn’t until recently that I began wearing thigh-high boots and I am sad I didn’t try them sooner. I’m shorter than most so I’m always worried about certain clothing choices shortening my frame, however these faux-suede boots are my new favorite for winter. These shoes can be paired with sleek black leggings and a nice top for a more dressed-up appearance or worn with a sweatshirt-styled dress for a casual look. I love the versatility of them.

For makeup, I usually keep things on the natural side, however I do like to amp it up when my outfit calls for it. Pairing glittery liquid eyeshadow (try Stila’s Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Eyeshadow, $24) with winged liner adds some fun to a makeup look without it being too bold. I always finish the look with a pop of highlighter—a girl that allows her skin to glow is a girl whose style and life shall grow.
