STYLE GURU STYLE: Glad To Be Rad

Spring has finally sprung, so that means it’s time to pull out the cute sundresses and sandals once again! My favorite part about the springtime is festival fashion. I always look forward to seeing what key trends are featured at Coachella and other festivals each year and translating them into everyday fashion. Gladiator sandals and high necklines are a major staple at festivals and even on the runway. Giambattista Valli showcased some flirty gladiator sandals at the spring 2016 fashion show. The fresh prints incorporated in each look are sure to keep springtime spirits high. Also, the collection is filled with high necklines, which are accompanied by short hemlines to keep the look balanced.

The Giambattista Valli show was quite intriguing, and it inspired my look in many ways. I wanted to translate the upbeat styles to reflect a fun festival look as well as add in some of my own personal touches. The high necklines were replaced with a studded choker and multiple layers of dainty necklaces. My T-shirt dress has a very relaxed silhouette with tons of movement just like many of the pieces on the runway. Finally, I laced my black gladiators up and added on my favorite jean jacket. I am typically drawn to shoes that make a statement and attract attention, which is why I chose to rock my heeled gladiators. Gladiator sandals have been one of my go-to shoes lately because they add so much pizzazz to an otherwise simple outfit.

Get My Look: 1. Tall black gladiators. 2. A flowy T-shirt dress. 3. Jean jacket.
