STYLE GURU STYLE: Gettin’ Fringe-y With It

It’s no secret that fringe is a go-to when you want to achieve the perfect summer boho look. The Boss resort 2017 collection from Jason Wu incorporates fringe in a fresh new way.

My favorite look from the collection was a sleek all-black ensemble that featured a black slip dress with fringe details all over it. Although it is simple, it still feels really fun and classic. I love the clean silhouettes combined with feminine details in all of the pieces. For example, the structured blazer feels feminine because of its fringe detail.

While I would love to rock a fringe-adorned blazer in the middle of summer, it’s just not realistic with the relentless sun and high temperatures. Therefore, I had to get creative to add the fringe trend into my summer wardrobe. I turned Boss’ high fashion look into something more casual and weather appropriate for Nashville’s CMA Music Festival, by pairing a black fringe vest over a denim romper. The fringe detail on my vest is similar to the fringe featured in the collection. My chambray romper was the perfect base to get that southern festival look. I especially love the back details of the romper as it allowed me to show off a cute bralette.

For my accessories, I wore some bright floral sandals, and of course, my favorite retro sunglasses. I braided my hair as a part of my look, but I also recommend braids to keep cool in the summer heat. They’re the perfect finishing touch to any boho-chic look.

Get My Look: 1. Fringe vest. 2. A chambray romper. 3. A feminine bralette. 4. Floral sandals.  5. Any pair of sunglasses.
