STYLE GURU STYLE: Get Ready to Romp

Tomas Maier has had a signature collection since 1997, but his focus has not been on his personal brand but rather Bottega Veneta. This Italian luxury goods company is now a $1.35 billion business thanks to Tomas Maier. Now though he is starting to focus on his own line and brand name. While his focus is on creating the brand and making it more well known, Maier is not focused on just another runway collection or making a line with a very high price point; rather he is focused on everyday clothes and accessories. The fact that he is not interested in just the money or making a line but rather practicality and affordability is what drew me to this line. Then after I looked at his lines I was attracted to this brand even more.

For this outfit, I looked specifically at his resort 2015 collection. I liked the khaki/caramel color that is the featured in several of this lines looks. Another theme of this line would be a distinct waist-line created by either a belt or a high-waisted skirt. The remaining two things that inspired my outfit would be that several of his looks are rather simple but have a statement handbag or for one look, a large hat. Lastly, I followed his lead and chose a gladiator sandal. Being in the sunny state of Florida for vacation calls for sunglasses all of the time so I chose my Erika Ray-Ban look-alikes. These sunglasses have easily become my favorite. They are a tortoise color, and I would love to get a black pair as well.

I believe that my outfit that I have created may not represent just one look from Tomas Maier’s collection, but rather it pulls many different elements from his collection into one outfit.

Get My Look: 1. Similar romper. 2. Metallic gladiator sandals. 3. Sunglasses. 4. Sun hat.
