STYLE GURU STYLE: Get Into The Groove

If the alice + olivia collection by Stacey Bendet doesn’t scream the ’70s era then I do not know what will. The groovy vibes with a modern twist are fluent throughout her 2015 pre-fall collection. From the paisley prints to the bell bottoms, I am left feeling really inspired by all of it. What I love most about this collection is the mixing of silhouettes and prints that really create a ’70s glam feel. I feel like her collection is about the movement that the garments present as you wear them. This can be seen in the outfits with fringe skirts and dresses. My favorite outfit from the collection had pieces that I could easily pick out from my wardrobe and style into an everyday look.

I opted to try this look and recreate it into something I would wear going to class. With my current love for  anything with bell sleeves or bell bottoms, I honestly had no choice but to choose this sassy, care free look. The shaggy cardigan is a great piece to layer over a floral dress or bell sleeve top as I have done. The top paired with the vest really gives the outfit a ’70s vibe. To make this look even more nostalgic, I went for a pair of high-rise denim bell bottoms because you can never go wrong with denim. I really like these jeans because they highlight my long legs.

To top everything off, I styled the look with a statement coin necklace, as if I wasn’t already making a statement with my shaggy cardigan. This pre-fall 2015 collection really has me excited about styling more ’70s inspired outfits. So groovy!
