STYLE GURU STYLE: Fur Stole the Show

While it feels like spring in New York City, the season has yet to fully take over. I needed some inspiration for the transition from what felt like eternal winter in the city to the sudden 50-degree weather.  I turned to collections from recent fashion weeks and was drawn to the Michael Kors fall 2015 show. The lineup centers around fox fur accents and extravagant full on fur coats. Models at the moment Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid both strutted down the runway in opulent looks. I was blown away by another successful collection from the true aesthetics of Michael Kors.

The looks that featured multi-color fur stoles inspired me to incorporate one to an easygoing spring outfit. The blush pink in my piece is a soft and romantic spring neutral.  I layered it over a black and camel color-block coat for a sweet effect. Underneath I had light layers going on, from a V-neck stripe top to a gray midi skirt. I have a new love for midi skirts at the moment and this one is a definite spring staple for me. I wore black boots and a small cross-body bag to keep the look coherent. Lastly, I had on a pair of round retro sunglasses.

I love the recent temperate weather in New York City and was glad to take a step ahead into the fall collections for 2015 for a little inspiration. Michael Kors’ collection presented what the designer was known for in luxurious American sportswear. I found my perfect fur stole as an accessory staple.

Get My Look: 1. A fur stole. 2. Light coat. 3. Midi skirt.
