STYLE GURU STYLE: Funkadelic Flares

If there’s one trend that is destined to dominate this season, it is bell-bottoms. The revived ’70s trend is a must of the season. The look is less about feeling historically accurate and more about taking our favorite ’70s fashion pieces and mixing in a few modern tweaks to make them feel current.

This specific look I styled is a great way to show off the bell-bottom trend in an everyday way. These pants will make your legs look miles long and instantly add some sophistication to any outfit. The black floppy hat and period dated shades are a stylish way to beat the September sun and add a girly fun touch to your bell-bottoms. The black cropped tank cinches in my waist while keeping the overall look comfy and causal. My accessories of choice were a plain black think banded choker and a vintage satchel bag. Although my shoes are not seen, I paired my denim bell-bottoms with black chunky ’70s-style ankle booties. You can always style your denim flared pants more causally by adding your fav vintage band T-shirt or a flirty lace off-the-shoulder top for a more dressy look.

If you are feeling hesitant about trading in your fav pair of skinnies for something wider, don’t be! With wide jeans and exaggerated boot-cut pants you can still wear all your favorite pieces, like a crisp white button-down or a cozy turtleneck, while still getting on board with one of fall’s biggest trends. So yes, ladies and gentlemen, the ’70s are back… in case you didn’t get the memo.
