STYLE GURU STYLE: Flower Child

Spring is finally in the air with the flowers blooming and the birds chirping everyone is ready to shed their winter woes and blossom into the spring trends. The Elie Saab spring collection showed hints of hippie vibes with loose fitting clothes with a hint of eloquence by adding lace detailing, bringing the retro seventies style to a high fashion show.

Being a hippie at heart, I fell in love with the items shown in the show and instantly found inspiration to recreate the high fashion look into a more modern everyday outfit.

When you first think of spring you instantly think of flowers and flower crowns. I personally love them and find that everyone can pull one off. By switching out the geo-crown that the models in the Saab show are wearing for a dainty daisy crown and keeping a natural makeup look, I’m able to make this laid back enough for everyday wear.

The pale pink maxi dress is perfect for spring. The lace overlays on the sleeves and bottom of the dress and adds the same girly touch similar to the ones in the Saab show. The double slits on the sides add an edgy touch to it and makes it more of my own style. I kept it simple with the shoes by just wearing a pair of nude sandals.

This look would be perfect for just a casual spring dinner or a music festival. This is something that you can wear from day to night and has just the right mixture of retro hippie vibe with hints of modern high fashion.
