STYLE GURU STYLE: Florals Forever

Florals for spring—groundbreaking, right? While floral print may not be the most original you’ve seen in spring fashion and on the runway, it is a classic print that truly never goes out of style. Different variations of the print will pop up from season to season, but a classic floral print in your closet will always be appropriate.

This season, large floral prints have been seen time after time. A perfect example of this season is the variety of floral prints in Gucci’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear line. To incorporate this trend into my look, I chose a print cardigan with a large floral motif. This cardigan can be paired with a skirt, like how I did in this look, but it can also be paired with a black dress or some ripped jeans. I chose to pair this cardigan with a denim skirt with front buttons; another ’70s themed piece that has been present on the runway recently.

To finish off the look, I chose a few accessories that reflect my own personal style: a pair of old school high-top Vans to keep the look casual. Along with this, I chose black brow bar sunglasses to shield my eyes from the bright, spring sun. My earrings and necklace are both a dark stone color, a trend that I’ve seen often around grounds at UVA. On my wrist, I have the bracelets that I typically wear every day: my Apple Watch, my Lokai bracelet and two bracelets from Laura & Lily. While it may seem trivial before walking out the door, taking a few minutes to accessorize and finish off your outfit can really make a difference.
