STYLE GURU STYLE: Floral, Stripes and Everything Nice

The beautiful thing about your individual style is that you have the ability to change it at any moment. I find myself switching from soft grunge to boho chic quite often. Trends usually change what style I want to have that day.

Stella Jean’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear runway look inspired me to create my very own mixed patterned outfit creation. Although his mixed patterns were a little too exotic and bold for me to pull off in a casual every day look, I was able to mix a couple patterns that I adore when they are worn together. The collection of Stella Jean consists of several mixed patterns just in one look. This designer pulls inspiration from many different cultures in order to find new patterns, colors, and prints to bring together.

Recreating looks is something I have always done since I was a little girl only instead of recreating a look that Selena Gomez wore I am now creating several different looks from designer runway shows. Finding a way to make a designers idea for their runway show my own is my favorite part. The thing I loved about Stella Jean’s collection is pairing patterns together, that is something that has always intrigued me. This week I decided to pair stripes and floral together, which is a combo that I find are very appealing to the eye. I started my look with a striped shift dress. This is a staple piece for me, as not only is it comfortable to wear, but it is very versatile. Throwing on my floral fringe kimono adds so much to the look due to the mixed patterns trend. I then finished my look with a brown panama hat, heeled sandals, and minimalistic jewelry.

Get My Look: 1. Striped shift dress. 2. Floral kimono. 3. Brown panama hat. 4. Heeled sandals. 5. Hook bracelet.
