STYLE GURU STYLE: Floral Morals

Festival season is officially here and that makes my bohemian heart oh so happy. Great music, food, friends and of course fashion. Coachella is one of the biggest music festivals, partly due to the amazing fashion that is shown. Festivals are some of the best places to really show your true vibes, which is one reason they have become so popular—that and the most delicious high calorie food you could ever lay eyes on.

My style tends to be pretty simple and casual. Although, when summer comes around my eyes always end up noticing every floral printed clothing article on the racks. There is just something about flowers and floral prints that makes me feel so happy and free-spirited.

The runway show that I took inspiration from for this outfit was Alexander McQueen’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. In this collection models walked the runway sporting a lot of floral patterns as well as long sleeves, which I incorporated into my outfit.

Granted my style is a lot more casual than the beautiful floor length dresses put out by Alexander McQueen for this spring collection, nevertheless I still found it inspiring. I picked up this floral romper with the daintiest lace detailing on the bell sleeves. Underneath I added a cream lace bralette to add something a little flirty to the outfit.

To accessorize I added a large silver statement necklace and a knotted headband. Something I’ve learned is that accessories make an entire outfit. Even the simplest of necklaces or rings can make an outfit look more put together.

As I said earlier, there is something about flowers that just brightens life around you. So as the semester comes to an end for the majority of us and we are all cramming for final exams, take some time to go run in a field of flowers or pick up a bouquet for yourself at the grocery store. We will all be enjoying beach trips and festival fashion before we know it!

Get My Look: 1. Floral romper. 2. Lace bralette. 3. Chunky silver necklace.
