STYLE GURU STYLE: Floral Fun

alice + olivia is absolutely one of my favorite designer brands, and their spring 2015 ready-to-wear show exceeded every one of my expectations. Designer Stacey Bendet is a total role model of mine, and I truly adore all of her designs. For this show, she found a lot of her inspiration from the modern art installations that are currently on display at Versailles, turning paintings into prints on various garments. Bendet also (which I think is super awesome) created a digital print out of a photo that she took of the gardens at Versailles, and she created a sweater that was embroidered with remembrances of Marie Antoinette’s court. Creative details like this are what inspire me and cause me to fall totally in love with alice + olivia. There is so much thought behind each piece, and each look tells a beautiful story.

alice + olivia’s show also featured a lot of fun ’70s looks, which Bendet said are inspired by her mother’s wardrobe. The main words I would use to describe the overall theme of her show would be vibrant and fresh. Every look felt just as new and exciting as the last.

So, I thought I would add a little Stacey Bendet chic to my every day look! Florals are a very prominent element of Bendet’s spring show, and it is spring, so I found the perfect floral dress hidden in my closet behind all of my winter coats. Finally, it’s warm enough outside to rock your favorite spring pieces, ladies! I paired my floral dress with black, heeled booties and a simple gold watch. Plus, I topped it all off with a fun, cropped denim jacket. I felt incredibly confident when I was wearing this look, and I definitely have alice + olivia to thank!
