STYLE GURU STYLE: Fitted Who?

Alright my fellow fashion lovers, I have good news for you! If you haven’t noticed yet, the trend of fitted clothing is slowly fading or at least not as cool as it once was. Loose and oversized is the popular kid now. So stop worrying about whether or not jeans are too tight or if a top is too big because it is out with the old and in with the new. A perfect example is ace&jig’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. This collection brings along easy going silhouettes, diverse patterns and flattering flares. And for those of you who like to keep cool, calm and collected but still look quite chic, then ace&jig is your slice of cake.

Lately, I’ve been loving the whole idea of oversized clothing and nice flares. Vibing off this collections boho-chic and simple attire, I went for a floral romper with a cute flare along the bottom. It has a floral and polka-dot pattern which become best friends and work out perfectly. If you’re trying to incorporate pattern into your wardrobe, try patterns along the same color scheme as a way to experiment. Once you feel comfortable and have an idea of what looks best, try something different and see what other looks you can create. This romper isn’t exactly oversized. It’s quite fitted, but it becomes looser starting from the hips down. Do not be afraid of wearing oversized and loose clothing because it can be fun and extremely comfortable. You’ll be surprised by how good an outfit can look without looking like you can’t breathe.

To add a spring feel to my look, I opted for a crème boater hat and wore my floral print Birkenstocks for more fun pattern and a comfortable laid back look.

So forget about fitted clothing; loose, oversized and flare are the new cool kids in town!
