STYLE GURU STYLE: First Day of Classes

As the first day of classes looms in the near distance, I have been getting my best looks together for the week. Whenever I get ready in the morning, I chose an outfit that will make me stand out somehow. My everyday outfit usually consists of jeans, boots or booties, a simple shirt or sweater with a sparkly necklace.  So naturally, my outfit for the first day of classes would be similar, with a little extra something to make a good first impression.

I decided to pair my favorite American Eagle Outfitters dark wash jeggings with a simple peplum style gray top from Loft.  At first glance, this outfit seems a little boring, but never under estimate the powers of a sparkly necklace.  I decided to pair with the grey shirt a long, silver, double tassel necklace, also from Loft. And for my jacket, I chose to wear a gray and white patterned coat that I picked up from Marshalls. The shoes that I chose are block heel booties from Nordstrom. I have learned that even by wearing just a small heel, confidence levels are higher, which is definitely a good thing to have on the first day of classes.

I love this outfit so much because there are so many different ways to accessorize with this shirt.  It is even adorable on its own without any accessorized help. This outfit says everything about my personal style, and even who I am as a person.  And that is what your first day outfit should be all about, expressing your truest and purest self.
