STYLE GURU STYLE: Feverish for Fall

Well, it’s official. Fall is here and I am super happy about it. The leaves are changing, pumpkins are everywhere and the weather is (finally!) cooling down. Fall’s undoubtedly my favorite fashion season! Between the crisp air and the beautiful foliage, it doesn’t get much better than that. Fall means it’s time to break out the jackets, layer up and load up on cute ankle booties. No matter where your live, fall is the best time to wear your layers and your favorite pair of shoes. I have a few favorites that I always reach for this time of year, but I recently found these amazing suede neutral lace-up flats that immediately became my go-to. They are perfect for this time of year and are the perfect piece to make any outfit stand out.
Not only is fall my favorite season because it’s when my birthday lands, it hands down is the best season for fashion. It poses the opportunity to break out your favorite sweaters, super cute booties and of course major fall jackets. I love the feeling of being cozy and all layered up. There is something so transitory and ever-changing about fall. It’s always a mystery of how and when the weather will decide to really break. This sometimes can make it hard to decide what to wear.

Just because the weather is unpredictable doesn’t mean that you need to compromise your favorite fall fashion trends. It means that you can experiment with texture, fabric and color to make your fall fashion look stand out.

This look is more simplistic than outfits I usually wear. Lately, between school and work I have found myself dressing more minimally. And I have been surprised by how much I have enjoyed it. Nonetheless, this look is perfect for fall. Dark denim is always a great statement. Especially, with my new favorite shoes. These shoes are major. Between the neutral color and the suede texture, they scream fall. Not only are they super stylish, they are simple and act as a great statement piece for any outfit.

My favorite trend for the last few months has definitely been the off-the-shoulder trend. I thought it may be hard to pull off for fall, but this shirt proved me wrong. The print screams fall and the sleeve length gives it a warmer vibe. Since it has been a bit cooler, I have found myself reaching for a jacket. This jacket has been perfect for the days where it is cool in the morning and warmer towards the afternoon. It surprisingly is very lightweight. The mauve gray color of it is perfect. It goes with everything and it is a great piece to not only keep you warm but add a huge statement to your look.

To get my look, really focus on mixing simple pieces with those that are more of a statement. Fall is the perfect season to amp up your style and take risks, so don’t be afraid to venture out of your normal realm!
