This summer has been full of adventures, whether fashion-related or not. One of the best parts of a summer spent in Chicago is quality live music. From concerts in Millennium Park and Soldier Field to Lollapalooza in Grant Park, there’s no shortage of options. Of course, it’s hard to find a look for a concert that is the perfect mix of comfort and style.
While preparing for a summer full of live music and festival adventures, I stumbled across Proenza Schouler’s resort 2015 collection. The collection as a whole had a funky, retro vibe to it. It was an eclectic combination of geometric prints and bright, loud colors. For some reason, it screamed “music festival” to me. I couldn’t get some of the pieces out of my head as I continued the search for ultimate concert outfits, namely the black and white pants that had appeared in several of the looks. The pants were edgy yet cool, and I needed a pair just like them.
I knew that laid back trousers and bold track pants were already making a statement this summer, but this gave me the perfect excuse to go out and look for a pair I’d want for myself. Since I’m short, the search was not an easy one, but Proenza Schouler inspired me to go after creative prints with an element of comfort. When I found these pants and tried them on, I knew they would be the best way to emanate the collection. As a plus, they are perfect for outdoor concerts.
Since these pants would clearly be the focal point of any outfit, I decided to keep the rest of my ensemble simple. Being outdoors means you need to be comfortable, so I paired the pants with a lot of low key items, like a simple black crop top and a pair of neutral flip flops. To carry all of the concert essentials, I made sure to wear a bag that had a little bit of flair. Finally, I added some simple gold jewelry.
