STYLE GURU STYLE: Faux Fur Frenzy

A pair of leggings, over-the-knee boots, a hat and a faux fur jacket are staples in my personal wardrobe. This year, faux fur has come back into style. The style of jacket I choose to wear has been popular among supermodels, such as Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner.

I took inspiration for this look from the Marc Jacobs fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. In the collection, Marc Jacobs used a lot of dark colors paired with winter whites. I stuck to his color palette, such as white and gray, and paired those colors with winter white. The piece that caught my eye in Marc Jacobs’s show was the fur coat.

I wanted to translate the different textures of the runway show into my own personal style. In the runway show, Marc Jacobs used different textures together to create a cohesive look. I mixed wool, suede and fur together to create my own look.

I translated the runway look into my own look by pairing black leggings from Macy’s with black, over-the-knee suede boots, a black long sleeve shirt and a wide brim wool hat. To give the outfit a trendy feel, I added the winter white faux fur coat. You can either find this jacket at Free People or Forever 21. Last season, I found this jacket at Forever 21 and had to have it, and now this style of jacket is being worn by supermodels walking the runways.

Adding fur to any look gives it a more sophisticated look and feel. By adding the faux fur coat to the outfit, I dressed up my causal all black outfit. Finally, to bring the whole outfit together I topped the outfit off with a gray, wool wide brim hat.

Get My Look: 1. A pair of black leggings. 2. A pair of black suede boots. 3. Faux fur coat.
