Breaking news, floral is back and it is bigger than ever. I know florals aren’t exactly the most cutting-edge spring trend, but go with it, would you? Florals are surprisingly enough making a comeback this spring, making their runway appearance in their fair share of spring 2015 collections. Among these is Michael Kors’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. From dresses to matching two-piece sets, the collection makes use of the most obvious sign of spring, blooming flowers. Florals make a huge statement in this collection, shown in massive flowers with incredible details.
To recreate the looks seen in the Michael Kors show, I chose to do MC Hammer proud in a pair of floral slouched pants. The pants are pleated with a tapered fit that modernizes the classic harem pant. The floral of the pants is such a large print, but it isn’t overpowering. Building off of the floral pants, I paired them with a lacy black crop top. The lace of the crop top is in a floral pattern, continuing the floral scheme of the look, without retracting from the pants. With the solid top, the pants are given the spotlight to make a major statement.
To accessorize, I threw on my favorite pair of teal flats and a statement necklace. The flats have spiked details and added a little edge to the otherwise feminine look. Both accessories perfectly allow the pants to remain the focal point of the outfit, and complement the color scheme of the look well.
