STYLE GURU STYLE: Falling into Spring

If you were to take a peak inside my closet, you would see there is a whole section devoted to neutral colored tops. Colors ranging from black to gray and then white. I know, where is the color? Well, that is just not my thing. I know my clothes don’t always have a lot of color to them, but I have learned to accept it and be okay with it. When most people think of spring, they tend to brainstorm outfits with many different colors. If you refer back to my last article, you will see that there. This tends to be the most difficult thing for me. I love my neutral colors and it is very hard for me to break away. Wearing colors is very out of my comfort zone. Although, I have decided to own it and stand out. It is okay to wear fall colors in the spring!

For me, fall is my favorite time of year. I’m all about sweaters and cute boots and sneakers.  Now, I have decided to take that fall style and adjust it just a tad for the spring. I am going to be a little bit rebellious and wear my fall style in the spring. Something I tend to do is to opt for a light weight top. As you can see in the pictures above, I am wearing a long sleeve black top. The good thing about this top is that it is so lightweight and breathable. The top is just perfect for those days where it might start out cold and warm up. Next, something I love is a classic pair of skinny jeans. I used to be the girl that didn’t own one single pair of jeans all throughout middle school because I was under the impression that they were “not cool.” I clearly grew out of that phase. These two items are classic and neutral but in my opinion, totally work in the spring. Embrace your inner fall!

Lastly, if you are someone who wants to try and start to break out of your neutrals comfort zone, I have a great suggestion for you! Makeup is something that i have grown to be very passionate about. Introducing colors to your look through makeup is great way to break out of your comfort zone. Potentially a light shimmer eyeshadow or bright lip. Colors may be fun for some, but they are not always fun for everyone. There is nothing wrong with being a fall Fashionista and bringing that flare to the spring.
