STYLE GURU STYLE: Fall Into The ’70s

Life is totally groovy. The ’70s are coming back and I could not be happier. I love the bohemian look; my wardrobe revolves around Free People, Urban Outfitters and random vintage pieces. The bell-bottom pants, the flowing dresses and the floral designs all bring an intrigue to different looks.

While browsing through some of the fashion shows, I ran across Erin Fetherston’s pre-fall 2016 collection and fell in love with her simplistic take on the ’70s. From dress to jumpsuit, Fetherston nailed what I believe to be a marriage between the current style and the ’70s. It is refined. The ease of movement and floral inspiration are what truly caught my eye.

Transitioning this collection into my outfit was pretty simple; I kept in mind the ease of flow Fetherston brought to her clothing. She screamed ’70s with her effortlessness and trendiness. I found this gingham-patterned dress by American Apparel and an old pair of wedges along with an array of flower accessories. The simplicity and ’70s vibe are what I focused on when translating this collection into my look.

This collection may be reminiscent of summer and all things hot, but it can also transcend into a winter look quite easily. I styled my outfit in a summery way with a dress and bright wedges, but if you add a nice pair of boots and a jacket, it will be sure to keep you nice and warm. With my particular outfit, I added a simple black peacoat on top with some gloves and stayed warm through the day.

Get My Look: 1. A floral or gingham-patterned shift dress. 2. Bright-colored wedges. 3. A flower crown.
