STYLE GURU STYLE: Fabulously Floor-Length

If there is anything I love about fall time, it’s the change of style on the runway. From Givenchy to Victoria Beckham, the fall runway shows are one of the best aspects of the season. My favorite show this season was definitely the Chloé fall 2015 runway show. This show had one of my favorite things in the fashion world, gauzy and flowing floor-length skirts. My favorite piece from the collection was modeled by Irina Liss and the skirt featured a beautiful lace detail at the bottom, and that’s what I wanted to incorporate in my look.

Even though maxi skirts have been in for awhile, the fabrics used in maxi skirts are usually very heavy, and tend to make shorter gals like me look bulky. Skirts that flow outwards and stop a sliver above the ankle are a perfect fit and light enough to wear in this transitioning period from summer to fall. It’s the perfect piece for a casual, yet stylish outfit to wear to classes or out on a day of errands.

While the skirt featured at the Chloé fashion show was amazing, I decided to choose a skirt that was more my style. I have a skirt from Old Navy that I absolutely love and have had for quite a few years. It is flowing white cotton, with a burnt orange woven flower design at the bottom. It’s very comfy, but a little hard to style. The easiest way I found to style the skirt was with an Aeropostale camisole I bought over the summer. The camisole has a lace design on the front, which I think looks super cute with the flower design at the edge of the skirt. I accessorized my look with a simple white lily flowers hair clip. I think it gave the whole look a summery, beachy feel that we don’t really get a lot in the Midwest.

Get My Look: 1. Skirt.  2. Cami. 3. Hair clip.
