STYLE GURU STYLE: Fabulous Flatforms

DNKY’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection really caught my eye this year. It combined great color combinations with sporty yet sleek designs and mixed vibrant patterns with an array that can only be described as a kaleidoscope of prints. Creating a collection that is suitable for all occasions, it consisted of various styles from long A-line skirts to shorter and tighter dresses suitable for all shapes and sizes. This collection is definitely worth a mention.

However, my favorite part of the show was the footwear. DNKY’s spring trend for footwear was without a doubt the flatform. Similarly featured in shows such as Noon by Noor and Maison Martin Margiela, flatforms are a combination of a stereotypical flat shoe and a mid-sized heel. As I am not blessed with a model six-foot stature, they are the perfect solution for giving me an extra boost that’s not too high that I’ll struggle to stand up! They come in various different styles from trainers to flip flops but I opted for these white sandal flatforms from Boohoo.

The rest of my outfit features my dad’s old leather jacket and oversized vintage check shirt that make the whole outfit slightly more unique than your average high street fashions. I think the shoes add a touch of sophistication and a ’70s flair to my otherwise casual outfit. I finished off my relaxed style with a pair of Ralph Lauren sunglasses.

Get My Look: 1. Grab some cleated flatforms from Boohoo in white 2. A ’70s-inspired leather jacket from Rokit London. 3. A a vintage ’90s style oversized shirt from ASOS marketplace.
