What has been my favorite trend over the past few months? Of course, it has to be the colorful faux furs worn by bloggers Chiara Ferragni and Charlotte Groeneveld alike. Â Before this trend gained popularity this season, faux furs were usually reserved for extremely important occasions.
During Milan Fashion Week, Fendi presented their fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection. Â Recently, creative director Karl Lagerfeld has adapted the brand to attract younger, influential consumers. Â Fendi has included many furs of vibrant colors to contrast against people’s beliefs of natural colored furs. Â Fendi has been around since 1925 so, it crucial for the brand to continue trends with the current times.
I was very interested in bringing this trend to a more casual look. I chose a blush colored, faux fur vest because I believed it would stand out among dark colored vests and jackets in the city. Â Also, I thought the faux fur was very intriguing seeing that it is obviously not the true natural color. Â I love wearing these types of vests around town because they keep me warm and I don’t have to worry about lugging around a large winter coat.
Also, I accessorized my outfit with a pair of sunglasses that had a wavy design on the arm. I love a good pair of oversized sunglasses because they can bring the total look together. Â The lens of the glasses is a shade of pink so it complements the pink in the faux fur vest. Â Additionally, I carried a distressed black handbag because it allowed me to maintain a more casual look.
All in all, fur has been a prevalent occurrence on the runways this season so, I believe this trend will continue to grow and reach all levels of consumers. Â It is very interesting to see how each person will interpret this trend in the future.
