STYLE GURU STYLE: Extreme Impact

Color blocking meets bright tones was one of the main trends that designers seemed to play with for the fall 2015 collections. Balmain, Fendi and Salvatore Ferragamo embraced this saturated palette, using a variety of lines and shapes to create bold fashion that causes high impact. Some pieces are obviously too exaggerated to be worn every day. However, among them exists the idea that we can take vivid statement pieces and pair them with more down-to-earth tones to provoke the attention of the camera, giving a contemporary twist to remedy some of the extravagant runway taste.

I was inspired by the ready-to-wear fall 2015 that Salvatore Ferragamo released. Massimiliano Giornetti’s approach to high impact fashion was exquisitely done for this collection, so I decided to bring his palette and designs to the everyday girl. For my high impact piece, I selected a boyfriend cardigan from Michael Kors. The fine knitting on the cardigan gives it a luxe feel while the navy, white and bright orange chevron pattern give it that pop that we saw many designers showcase.

I paired this cardigan with a pair of black Calvin Klein ponte pants that have gold zippered detailing, which matches the gold button on the cardigan and flowy off white top. To finish off my outfit, I chose a pair of a classic loafers from Tory Burch, which are perfect for fall, with a delicate ring from Pandora and a rose gold bracelet from Swarovski. This look is perfect for those days where you want to have some fun with your wardrobe but do not want to go over the top. It is back to the basics with a hint of color to make it more playful.
