STYLE GURU STYLE: Extraordinary Embroidery

One of my favorite things about spring is all of the color that gets to the front of my closet. I have to admit that my closet really only has a small selection of colors, including some pink and olive green. But bold patterns and textures are also fun in the springtime.

This spring, I have really loved how the ’70s are having a comeback in there own fabulous way. The alice + olivia spring 2016 show does a great job of bringing a sense of elegance to the ’70s. One of my favorite things about this collection is the bright colors, extraordinary embroideries and the suede and denim.

I have loved bringing this into my own style with simple and classic pieces. A denim jacket is always a must-have piece in my closet. The denim jacket can instantly change any outfit, and it is a great way to give an outfit a little bit of the ’70s. A piece like the colored suede skirt always adds a fun vibe to any outfit you wear.

I love how this outfit can be dressed up or dressed down with just a few changes. Slip on some sneakers to dress it down or take off the jacket to dress it up. With the transition into spring, it can be hard to dress for a day when it is chilly in the morning and pretty warm in the afternoon. This outfit makes that transition a little easier, especially when walking around campus all day.
