STYLE GURU STYLE: Everything is Right in Black and White

Viktor & Rolf’s Flowerbomb perfume has been a staple fragrance in my life for many years, so it came as no surprise to me that I was drawn to their runway styles as well. Flowerbomb’s floral scent is distinct and captivating, and Viktor & Rolf’s spring 2016 couture collection holds a similar taste. Victor & Rolf’s black and white theme brings a simple tone to the runway, but their designs are anything but simple. White dominates the color scheme and the dresses are abstract to say the least. Each look features complex facial expressions that are strategically placed on, and around, the models. The styles remain classic because most pieces are embellished with Viktor & Rolf’s signature black stamp accessory. A timeless appearance is achieved ensuring that these couture pieces will surely be following us into the summer season.

The black stamp and white dress combination inspired me to recreate my own look that follows this black and white trend. Of course I had to add my touch of boho, so I paired a white sundress with black accessories. Although my dress does not extend past my head or off my body, it is still a unique item with bell sleeves and crochet detailing bringing flare to my outfit.

When it comes to accessories, I am officially choker obsessed. Something basic, such as the wrap choker I am wearing, can be added to any outfit to help spice things up. Since I live in Florida and it is hot ALL the time, a floppy hat really does the trick in blocking out the sun and somehow makes everything look effortless in the midst of all this heat. My go-to bags are always cross-body and the fringe on this one helps you stand out just like Victor & Rolf anticipated. One of my summer essentials is gladiator sandals, and since the ones I’m wearing fit in perfectly with this black accessory trend, I knew they would be the perfect finishing touch to my runway inspired look.
