STYLE GURU STYLE: Effortlessly Earthy

Beautiful neutrals and oversized silhouettes rocked the runway in Rebecca Minkoff’s resort 2016 collection.  She incorporated a ’60s feel to the gorgeous color-blocked metallics and killer booties paired with the skirts and dresses. Her ready-to-wear collection embodied her youthful and polished aesthetic, while still looking effortless. Her pieces allow any Fashionista to dress elegantly yet comfortable, while incorporating the trending tomboy style.

Shapeless pieces have never been so flattering as she also includes “a crocheted shift, op art knits, and a standout fringed T-shirt dress in baby blue suede” (Style.com).  My look pulls inspiration from the bohemian, oversized, neutral theme that emanates throughout this collection. My off-the-shoulder shift dress is an unstructured, classic olive color that can be instantly dressed up. To recreate Rebecca Minkoff’s runway collection, pair your dresses with some boots for that bold contrast in your look.

My peep toe ankle booties are a laser cut suede with a wooden stacked heel. Finding shoes with some dimension play up the different textures found in Rebecca Minkoff’s 2016 looks. To ensure that you are incorporating runway trends in your everyday style, try to mix and match bold patterns and different textures with your shoes or bag. I prefer a more subtle look for day time but I managed to incorporate those keys textures. I added a wide brim felt hat, a leather clutch, suede shoes and metals for jewelry.
