STYLE GURU STYLE: Dressed In Denim

Denim on denim may seem daunting, but let me tell you that there’s a way to dress head to toe in denim without having to worry about matching one shade to another. Say hello to the denim dress. Fashion influences such as Alexa Chung, Kylie Jenner and Chiara Ferragni have been rocking them for the past year, so should you.

With that being said, we can agree that denim is always on-trend, especially when some of the most influential fashion houses are showcasing it on their runway. Namely, Chanel’s fall 2016 ready to wear show. Karl Lagerfeld had an equestrian-esque show filled with frills and thrills. My favorite, of course, was the denim dress thrown in among black and white lace trimmed dresses and a hot pink tweed coat. It was fun, dressed up and paired with prints and spectacular accessories. The thing about denim dresses is that you can dress them up or leave them as simple as you’d like. Yet, a denim dress by Karl is anything but simple.

What I took away most from this show was that you can ALWAYS dress up denim. Especially, a denim dress. I took a few of my favorite current trends to create an entirely new look. First, the bandanna—they’ve been popping up everywhere this spring. From your favorite bloggers to music festival attendees around the world. Everyone is embracing the western-wear. Second, the classic adidas Superstars. These timeless sneakers are fun AND practical. Our favorite It girls are notorious for being spotted in them. Lastly, no outfit is complete without a great pair of sunglasses and an effortless nude lip.

Get My Look: 1. Any denim dress. 2. Strike white adidas. 3. Bandana (color of your choice). 4. Aviator sunglasses.
