STYLE GURU STYLE: Dress to De-Stress

January 13th, 2016 at 2:00am

We’ve just finished the Christmas period and now it’s the beginning of January and we’re getting ready to go into exam season here in the UK. With deadlines and exams looming around the corner, it’s a stressful time especially for final year students like myself. However, one thing that can brighten up your day is having on a cute outfit.

University has taught me that you can wear absolutely anything you want and people will embrace your style and uniqueness as long as you look and feel confident in what you’re wearing. What I’ve loved about University is the opportunity it gives you to express yourself and experiment with things I’ve never tried before. This freedom has allowed my style to evolve so much over the course of my degree.

I’d say that my personal style changes a lot depending on where I’m heading, the weather and how I’m feeling that day. But one thing that doesn’t change is my love of oversized clothing everything about it speaks to me: it’s comfortable, nonrestrictive, and because I’m so small they make me look cute.

The outfit that I chosen for today’s article is an easily achievable look; perfect for the exam season, it features my favourite trends oversized clothing and layering. I’m wearing a black & Other Stories bat-winged dress with a Nehru collar, which I’ve layered over grey Topshop wide-legged pleated trousers with Old Skool original Vans. However, to update this look for evening drinks after class, all you need to do is add some lipstick and some cute black heeled ankle boots. I have accessorised with a beige snakeskin shoulder bag by Pierre Cardin, a must for an evening out.

Hope you had a great Christmas and have a Happy New year. Good luck to everyone out there preparing for your exams see you on the other side. And remember—as long as you look good, you can never have a truly bad day.
