STYLE GURU STYLE: Drama Queen

Recently, I have been traveling in Thailand. This magical land is full of mysteries and inspirations. Long pencil skirts and dramatic colors are the major themes here. I found a similar trend in Dolce&Gabbana’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. In this collection, dramatic flower patterns and pencil dresses are almost the core of the collection. Models look tall and thin in pencil dresses. So, in order to blend in with the local culture, I decided to take inspiration from Dolce&Gabbana and be dramatic.

I picked a long blue pencil skirt with dramatic patterns and colors. In order to let the dress stand out, I wore a loose crop top with little patterns. The short top and long bottoms together gave me the perfect body proportion. The shirt and skirt were both blue, but in different tones; thus, adding dimension to the whole outfit. In Dolce&Gabbana’s collection, red and black are the two main colors, so the colors make the models look elegant. The blue in my outfit made me look refreshing and bohemian.

I completed my look with some dramatic accessories. I chose a big, white floppy hat with a bow. The hat was so big that my mom said it was like an umbrella on my head. My silver earrings were big and dramatic, too. Compared with other items, the pearl necklace was less dramatic, but still shined on my neck. The bag that I carried was handmade, and the both the color and the style was just the right tone for Thailand. Lastly, I wore a pair of red Rome sandals, which was right for the color of the bag and contrasted nicely with my skin tone.

Get My Look: 1. Loose crop top. 2. Long pencil skirt with dramatic patterns. 3. Big floppy hat.
