STYLE GURU STYLE: Downtown Lace

Downtown lace, styled with grace! I prepared this look and headed out downtown with friends. This look can be worn for any occasion at all because it is very versatile. Simple and elegant!

The inspiration from this outfit comes from the Blumarine resort 2016. I loved the color scheme it held. It is explained that the collection was “as light as soufflés in every possible shade of candy colors, like macaroons piled up in a French pastry shop.” The looks had different colors, fabrics and patterns all around.

Unless you are lucky, you may never really find a dress that makes you witness that sense of gracefulness. One of the dresses in the collection did just that so I decided to replicate it and take my own personal spin on it. The Blumarine dress looks like it could be pulled down to the shoulders but it doesn’t. It falls straight below the models collarbone giving it that off the shoulder allusion. It also is a perfect clean white, so I tried to shy away from both. I looked for a dress that was off the shoulder and at least a cream color. (Do these colors make you think of macaroons yet?). I found this dress, and as soon as I did a light bulb went off in my head! I found the sense of gracefulness! It was cream and off the shoulder giving it a bohemian, hippie vibe. Although Blumarine’s lace dress went straight down and clinged to the body, my dress didn’t, it differed. In the end, my outfit replicated the elegance and grace that I was inspired by in Blumarine’s resort 2016 collection.

Trying to replicate my outfit? In my outfit, I have a lace insert off the shoulder, gypsy style dress. Pair it with some sandals and a long statement piece to add more BOOM to the dress! I topped it off with a shoulder bag and finally my CollegeFashionista RAD bracelet! All set and ready to go!

Get My Look: 1. A graceful dress. 2. BOOM necklace. 3. Simple shoulder.
