STYLE GURU STYLE: Double The Trouble

Monochromatic is a fashion term that is used throughout the fashion industry, it’s one of my favorite trends thus far. This trend includes tints and shades of one single color put together with style. Olivier Rousteing is the creative director for Balmain Paris. He takes many risks with his bold colors, big fur jackets, animal printed wear and of course the way he uses monochromatic.

In Paris fashion week to show off his spring/summer 2014 collection, he showed the way he can double up on denim. Denim is my favorite piece of outwear because you can wear denim with anything, it’s so many ways to match it up. Whether it’s cold outside or hot, you can wear denim skirts, shirts, jackets or dresses. Denim jackets were out of style for a while but made their way back into the fashion game.

One particular look that I exhibited into my everyday style was his look number 30. Since I love denim I decided to pick this style to incorporate into my outfit. Conveying my individual style I decided to wear a navy blue bomber jacket over a short sleeve jean shirt, with my denim ripped jeans, my black hat, my MAC Media lipstick and my black strap sandals.

If you want to incorporate this look into your style you can find a bomber jacket at Old Navy, a jean jacket or shirt at basically any clothing store, my black hat from Urban Outfitters and my strap sandals at H&M.

Get My Look: 1. Any jean shirt or jacket. 2. A bomber jacket of any color. 3. Black strap sandals.
