STYLE GURU STYLE: Don’t Rain on My Style

Some see rainy days as the automatic “bum” day when it comes to style. As much as I sometimes just want to throw on some sweats when it’s gloomy out and lay in bed all day, I have to get out and get moving, and I always have to do it in style! I see bad weather days as a fun challenge. Even though I have a few pairs of weather appropriate boots, it’s fun to mix and match what will go with them and make a bundled up look with rubber boots super fashionable!

A hat is a perfect rainy day, or even snowy day, accessory! I love my that black hat is not too floppy and has a rounded style. It’s made out of black wool so it keeps me warm on winter days like today while protecting my face and hair from the rain! I paired my cool hat with a super comfy and classic white long sleeve waffle shirt from Old Navy and a big kimono style sweater from Missguided. The sweater is perfect for crisp fall days and can even work as a jacket. It feels like I’m wearing a big blanket! I finished my look with a trendy black choker with a cool gold charm to make everything look a little more polished.

Of course leggings are a must on cold and rainy days because they keep you warm and are easy to slip into a great pair of rain boots that keep your feet warm and dry. My boots are a Tommy Hilfiger play on combat style boots. They’re not as high as traditional rain boots and even have laces! I fell in love with these boots when I saw them a few years ago and they’ve been with me through most rain storms over the last four years at college! If it was a little colder (or if it was snowing!) I would’ve paired my look with warm camp socks or even my higher rain boots with fleece inserts. With the snowy season coming I could’ve thrown on my super warm duck boots too! I love pairing warm and dry with looking great!
