STYLE GURU STYLE: Diving into Deep Sea Blue

For spring 2016, ready-to-wear runways were dotted with various shades of bold blues. From Acne Studios to 3.1 Phillip Lim to Anna Sui, intriguingĀ cobalt blues and striking cerulean blues made quite a splash. For this outfit, I was particularly inspired by the Acne Studios spring 2016 ready-to-wear show. Bold shades of cobalt blue were sprinkled throughout the show. Acne Studios utilized deep sea blue in several prints as well as in several solid-colored garments. The designs emitted a very hip, summery mood.

I incorporated the bold blue trend from the show into my outfit by pulling this blue watercolor patterned jumpsuit out of my wardrobe. The summery shades of blue and funky pattern of this jumpsuit reflect the designs in the Acne Studios runway show.

One of the things that I love about this jumpsuit, and jumpsuits in general, is that they have the ability to make you appear taller (and slimmer!) than you actually are. I wanted to add to that taller-than-reality illusion even further and slipped on a pair of green suede wedges with my jumpsuit. Besides creating the illusion of added height, I love these wedges with this look because they’re the perfect winter-to-spring transitional shoe because of the open-toe style and suede texture.

I kept accessories rather minimalistic as I wanted my jumpsuit to be the focus of this look. However, I did slip on a couple golden rings, a simple golden bracelet, golden shades and a couple golden necklaces. I layered two golden necklaces together for an entirely unique look. I started with this bold golden collar necklace. However, it felt a little too plain by itself with this look so I layered a personalized name necklace with the collar necklace for a little more oomph. A swipe of lipstick perfected the look.
