STYLE GURU STYLE: Cutouts In Cabo

Getting an invite to a wedding is exciting. Getting invited to a destination wedding is even more exciting. Not only is it a special day for the wedding couple, it gives you an excuse to travel. Nowadays there are lots of different types of weddings. From themed weddings to traditional wedding to beach weddings, there is a lot of debate on how to dress. This week I have been lucky to be able to fly to Cabo San Lucas to celebrate the love of two dear friends.

My outfit for this occasion was inspired by BCBGMAXAZRIA spring 2015 runway show. I loved the movement and liquid look of the dresses presented in this show. Though, I did not try to replicate the exact styles, I wanted my dress to be just as flowy. My dress also has slits on each side which helps with the movement when I walk.

Cabo San Lucas this time of year is extremely hot and humid. Every day is about 95 degrees. I picked this dress because it has slits all the way up to make an illusion of a maxi dress without being too hot. The balance between being formal and also being on a beach is hard to achieve but this dress had all the elements to satisfy both. The cutout helped with the heat and added beautiful details that accentuated the natural waistline. The movement of the fabric gives a carefree casual vibe while the high-neck gives the dress an elegant look, which I think makes this dress more formal.

Get My Look: 1. Maxi dress. 2. Clutch. 3. Flash tattoos.
