STYLE GURU STYLE: Cotton Candy Paradise

Summer means tan skin, lighter hair and replacing my black clothes with whites. Being the girl who’s obsessed with wearing black, I always find myself transitioning to whites in the summer. White clothing is a must-have for summer because not only will it keep you cooler on hot days, but it will also show off your sun-kissed skin.

Taking inspiration from Giambattista Valli spring 2016 couture collection, I recreated the boxy white dress with a pop of blue look by paring a white button-up skirt with a boxy blue T-shirt. This outfit is perfect for a music festival, going to a carnival with your significant other and everything in between. I added my own sense of style into this inspiration by paying attention to details such as the pink colored “camp vibes” logo on my baby blue T-shirt. The baby pink adds a twist to this outfit, transforming it into a cotton candy paradise. To add a more feminine touch to this outfit, I cuffed my sleeves and tucked in my shirt to emphasize the high-waist on the button-up skirt.

To balance out the pink, I wore a baby pink beaded bracelet along with my favorite initial bracelet, these are both from Alex and Ani. These bracelets are simple yet cute enough to accessorize an outfit for any occasion, which makes them a must-have for all the minimalist Fashionistas out there!

Lastly, to balance out the baby blue T-shirt on top, I wore a pair of baby blue block-heeled sandals. Block-heel sandals are definitely trending right now for their comfort and festival vibes. Whether I’m having a girl’s night out or just meeting friends for brunch, these block-heel sandals are my new go-to shoes. So next time you’re out shopping for shoes, do yourself a favor and get a pair of block-heeled sandals!
