Recall the runway history — who is the first person to introduce pop culture to Haute Couture? No matter right or wrong, the first name came to my mind is Jeremy Scott. The new creative head of Moschino brought different but fresh elements to the superior and sit-up-high runway collections. Beside his first McDonalds and Chanel hybrid show for Moschino, the fall 2012 ready-to-wear show under his own name was a truly stunner. Bart Simpson is the real hero of the entire show. The ’90s original bad boy made a major comeback. The funky Simpson-printed sweater not only refreshed our eyes but also was very wearable.
So I decided to wear the bad boy and added a sense of humor to my own summer look. I bought this Simpson-printed denim shirt last year. I love the pattern so much. The iconic cartoon character energizes my whole look and offers me instant gratification. The loose shape gives me a laid-back touch.
Because of the oversized design, only a unique bottom can go well with the top. You want a slouchy look not a sloppy look. Unique texture can move a wardrobe from standard to standout, so I went with a leather shorts. The buttery leather polishes my outfit instantly. But the oversize design also echoes with my fun top, which creates a sophisticated laid-back look. A buttery leather short is one of the best investments for this summer. It literally goes with everything and levels your look up instantly.
A high-waisted pencil skirt is another great option. A pale pink skirt will add you a sweet girly vibe. A one-of-kind bottom is the key to wear this top in a chic and presentable way.
