STYLE GURU STYLE: Clutch

Now that we are officially back on campus after a relaxing (and much needed) winter break, it is time for Fashionista/os galore to show off what they got for Christmas! My Instagram feed was flooded with various gifts people received over the holidays. However, a name brand that seemed most popular to me this holiday season was the ever so fabulous kate spade. My mouth watered as I scrolled through the seemingly endless assortments of kate spade clutches, mini bags and totes. One item I was especially excited to open Christmas morning was my very own (and first ever!) kate spade clutch.

Feeling super giddy about my new accessory, I headed to style.com to look for inspiration. After viewing kate spade new york’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection, one thing that definitely stuck out to me was the versatility of her handbags. Ranging from scalloped totes to shoulder bags resembling flower pots, the uniqueness of kate spade’s iconic line is nothing short of legendary.

Though kate spade’s designs are nothing short of admirable, I have a special love for this specific clutch. The hologram clutch is black and white, showing two dancing feet. It is referred to as the “disco dancing feet” clutch because whenever you move, the legs on the clutch bend, revealing the dancers in a new funky dance move! I love carrying this clutch around campus because it is so eye-catching and different. Like the versatility of Kate’s different designs, her purses are also very versatile to wear. I can wear this clutch for a casual look while walking down the busy streets of Louisville, KY, or if I wanted a more chic look I can simply pair it with a little black dress and heels!

Taking note of the forest green and blue hues in her collection, I opted for a royal blue sweater myself. Giving my outfit that unmistakable signature kate spade preppy touch, I added a button-up collared shirt underneath the sweater.

Get My Look: 1. A collared button-up. 2. A cute sweater. 3. A kate spade clutch.
