STYLE GURU STYLE: Classic Elements

When I look at runway shows for inspiration, I always go to the “ready-to-wear” section because those shows most fit my personality. These shows tend to have more classic elements that fit what I like to wear. kate spade new york’s spring 2015 fashion show featured so many of my favorite looks!

I love how many of her looks featured hats of all shapes. I love the stripes, floral and neutrals, but specifically how she uses them together. I typically lean towards dresses when I am shopping, and this line features so many of my favorite dress styles and it brings these looks back to decades where fashion looked simple and well put together.

I think my look is a balance of kate spade new york’s  look two  and look nine. Look two features a heavy blend of neutrals, matching them back to each other in different aspects of her outfit. Look nine is more colorful but it has the shape of dress that I featured and a very similar hat.

What I tired to incorporate into my outfit that I think kate spade new york did any amazing job with, is a completed look, head-to-toe. All of her looks look perfectly pieced together from the hat to the purse and everything in-between.

The hat I wore is one that I bought a couple weeks ago and I have been waiting for the perfect occasion to wear it. I love how it looks with a cute sundress. I got this adorable peach sundress from Savvy, a boutique on campus corner. It is the only asymmetrical dress currently in my closet, but I have a feeling that will change. To pull it all together, like the kate spade looks, I matched my three-toned purse to my three-tone wedges.

Get My Look: 1. Classic hat. 2. Sundress. 3. Neutral wedges.
