STYLE GURU STYLE: Class for Class

In a dream world, I would tell you that every day I wake up, the sun is shining, birds are chirping, and I meticulously concoct a trendy outfit complete with real accessories, blouses and jeans and skip on my way to class. But this is the middle of the semester and not a dream world. In reality, my priority for class is comfy—not that cute. Microeconomics is painful enough without your high-waisted jeans digging in to your ribcage. So here it is: a REAL class outfit.

Inspired by the fall 2016 ready-to-wear adidas by Stella McCartney collection, the athleisure trend is my go-to for school. This collection features work-out wear styled for everyday life and layers on layers perfect for fall!

Leggings, leggings, leggings—they’re perfect for wearing to class, the library, the grocery, and maybe if we’re lucky, an actual yoga class. I don’t need to tell you about the wonderment that is pants that feel like nothing on your legs. I’m sure you already know. To get crazy—as crazy as one can be wearing the same leggings four days in a row—leggings with mesh cut outs are the move to make. These quickly convince someone that you may have tried this morning, but probably not. Athletic sweatshirts are comfy, warm and kind of feel like you’re still snuggled up in bed. I layered a leather jacket on top because nothing screams I’m ready to kill this midterm like a leather jacket—am I right? Also, if you live in a chilly climate such as Ohio in late autumn, layers are essential to being able to maintain feeling in your elbows when walking from class to class. Ohio State University has a very large campus, so I never make the trek to a lecture hall without my sneakers. Gym shoes, like these Nikes, are also a great way to trick the world into thinking that you MIGHT have gone to the gym today—a girl can dream, you know.
