STYLE GURU STYLE: Chambray Fever

Since I’ve always been obsessed with anything 1970s-inspired, I wasn’t surprised at all to find myself extremely weak in the knees over Chloé’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. From the dreamy and breezy fabrics to those killer gladiator sandals, it’s safe to say that this collection has completely won me over. The color palette leaned towards the more neutral side of the spectrum, but that’s what made it all the more perfect for me. With countless suede pieces and billowy dresses, it was a little tough to single out my favorite ensemble, but the second I laid eyes on this chambray look, I knew it was love at first sight.

After what seemed like an intense online shopping scavenger hunt, I finally added some pieces to my closet that emulate the effortlessness of Chloé’s spring collection. Taking a few cues from my favorite look, I opted for a chambray dress. While the frock featured on the runway has longer sleeves, I decided to go with a sleeveless style that’s a little more fitting for Texas’s insane heat waves. To add a little something extra to my simple dress, I added a vintage silk scarf that reminds me of the 1970s.

As much as I found myself swooning over those Chloé gladiators, I opted for a shorter lace-up pair of flats for a look that’s a little more comfortable. This season, you’ll definitely find me hopelessly wishing I owned every piece from Chloé’s spring collection! In the meantime, I’ll be embracing the simpler side of fashion and sporting pieces that emulate the cool and laid-back vibes of the 1970s.

Get My Look: 1. A chambray dress. 2. A pair of lace-up flats. 3. A silk scarf.
