STYLE GURU STYLE: Camel Coat

Nothing pulls an outfit together better than a jacket as a finishing touch. Derek Lam’s pre-fall 2015 fashion show was all about the jackets for the upcoming fall season. The show revealed a numerous amount of different styled jackets. The one that really caught my eye was the camel coat. This jacket is such a simple style, cut and color but can make or break an outfit.

Since the first snow has finally fallen of the spring semester, the long walks to class are going to be even more miserable than before. The bitterness of the cold, the icy grounds and the many layers to bundle up in certainly don’t make the walk enjoyable. However, with a camel some of the problems are solved. A camel coat is so simple and effortless and pulls an outfit together, as well as basically matches with any color or article of clothing. I paired my camel coat with a pair of black harem pants to stay comfortable throughout the day. I added black leather booties and black boot socks to stay warm. Lastly, to complete the look I added a plaid stitched scarf and a white beanie to beat the cold on the way to class.

My style ranges from edgy, to comfortable and casual, to dressed up. The camel coat is the perfect essential to my wardrobe as it goes with anyone of my different outfits. In addition, every time I wear the coat the compliments are endless. It will definitely continue to be a huge trend within the colder seasons.

Get My Look: 1. A camel coat. 2. A plaid scarf. 3. A pair of leather booties.
